This independent article is based on CSSBuy’s public workflow, warehouse information and shipping estimator. Current order conditions, account deadlines and the selected route remain controlling.

Decide whether the link is dead, changed or only failing to load

A product link needs recovery only after you identify what failed. A marketplace page that returns an error may be temporarily unavailable, blocked by a login screen or no longer retrievable through the agent interface. A page that still opens may be more dangerous: the seller can replace its title, images or options while the address remains unchanged. Compare the current page with the spreadsheet record before calling it usable. If the product type, selected variation or seller evidence no longer matches, treat it as a changed listing rather than accepting a successful page load as proof.

Preserve the original address and item identifier before searching for alternatives. Record the marketplace, seller or shop name where visible, saved title, selected colour and size, quoted unit, old CNY amount and last check date. A screenshot is useful evidence, but it is not enough on its own because seller photographs are frequently reused. The goal is not to find a visually similar card as quickly as possible. The goal is to build a replacement record whose identity, options and current commercial terms can be checked independently.

Understand what CSSBuy currently supports

CSSBuy's public Buy For Me page describes direct URL entry and product-name search as its normal starting methods. Its separate Search for Me page currently accepts a keyword or sentence and allows up to three reference images. CSSBuy says its team uses the submitted information to search Chinese marketplaces. This is a staffed research request, not evidence of an instant reverse-image engine that automatically identifies the original seller. Use the images to communicate the target, then evaluate every returned result as a new candidate.

The public Expert Buy form is another fallback when normal product retrieval does not provide a usable page. It accepts an item URL, title, images, notes, CNY price, domestic delivery and quantity. Those fields show why a useful recovery brief needs more than a photograph. CSSBuy also states that shopping-agent products come from third-party platforms and that shoppers should verify the information and accept product risks. A search result therefore does not certify authenticity, quality, stock or seller continuity.

Choose reference images that carry decision value

Use the clearest full-product image first. It should show the complete shape without a collage, heavy filter, text overlay or unrelated props. A second image can isolate a distinctive construction detail such as a collar, closure, outsole, pocket layout or hardware shape. A third can preserve a size chart, model label or option grid when that detail separates the intended item from common look-alikes. Crop away usernames, order numbers, delivery labels and any private information before uploading a reference.

Do not choose three near-identical promotional angles. Each file should answer a different identification question: what the product is, which version it resembles and which measurable or written detail matters. Avoid treating logos or familiar campaign photographs as sufficient identifiers. The same image may appear across different sellers, materials, batches and price tiers. When only one image survives, state that the match confidence is limited and rely more heavily on written attributes, option structure and seller-page evidence.

Write a search brief that cannot be mistaken for a trend request

Pair the images with a compact factual description. Start with the product type, then add construction, intended option and measurable constraints. A useful brief might say: “plain zip hoodie, heavyweight fabric claim, dropped shoulder, no back print, adult sizing, single-piece order; need a chart showing chest width and length.” For footwear, identify the silhouette, upper material claim, closure, intended colour and the measurement needed for fit. For a bag, include approximate dimensions, closure, strap type and interior arrangement.

Separate required facts from preferences. Required facts determine whether the result belongs in the shortlist; preferences help rank suitable results. Also list exclusions that prevent predictable mistakes, such as “not a replacement strap,” “not a child size,” “not a preorder deposit” or “not a wholesale pack.” Keep uncertain claims out of the brief. If the old image suggests leather but the archived text never stated it, ask for a listing that specifies the material instead of declaring the material as known.

Compare returned listings without inventing continuity

Open several plausible results and compare the same fields: marketplace, seller, product title, option names, selected variation, unit or minimum quantity, written measurements, current CNY amount, domestic delivery and page status. Mark missing information as “not stated.” Never copy a size chart, material claim or delivery term from one candidate into another because their main photographs match. The best recovery result is the listing that makes the intended purchase checkable, not necessarily the one with the closest thumbnail or lowest headline price.

Classify each result as same-source evidence, visual candidate or rejected. Same-source evidence requires a preserved seller or item connection, not visual intuition. A visual candidate resembles the reference but has to be treated as a different listing and possibly a different product. Reject results when the required variation is absent, the price belongs to an accessory or deposit, the minimum quantity does not fit the order, or the seller page contradicts the archived description. This language prevents a spreadsheet from quietly turning resemblance into a false batch or seller claim.

Recover identity before comparing price

Price is meaningful only after the commercial unit and exact option are known. A replacement page can show a lower starting number because it defaults to a sample, accessory, child size, unfinished component or minimum wholesale tier. Select the intended colour, size, model and quantity before recording the amount. Keep the CNY figure as the primary reference and note the date. Domestic seller-to-warehouse delivery belongs in the comparison as a separate field because the first CSSBuy payment covers the goods and that local delivery stage.

Use a simple evidence score rather than a quality score. Award one point each for a working source page, unambiguous option, usable measurements, clear unit or minimum quantity and consistent written description. The score says how complete the research is; it cannot predict the item that will arrive. A lower-scoring candidate can remain on hold while CSSBuy asks the seller a focused question. A complete candidate can proceed to link verification, but it still needs warehouse inspection after purchase.

Know when recovery should stop

Stop when every result depends on the same recycled photograph but none supplies the option or measurement that defines the purchase. Stop when the old record contains no product identifier, seller, option text or distinctive construction detail and the image is too generic to narrow the field. Also stop when the intended item appears restricted, customized or commercially ambiguous and current seller terms cannot be confirmed. “No reliable replacement found” is a useful spreadsheet status; silently attaching an uncertain new link is not.

If a possible result needs one missing fact, ask one precise question rather than reopening the whole search. Examples include whether the displayed amount covers one piece, whether a named colour is currently available, whether a chart reports garment width or body circumference, or whether a shown accessory is included. Save the answer with its date and candidate URL. If the answer changes the product identity, repeat the comparison. The recovery process ends only when the source, exact option, quantity and evidence needs are documented.

Turn the recovered result into a maintainable spreadsheet row

Keep the dead link in a history field instead of deleting it. Add the replacement marketplace URL, CSSBuy route, seller or shop name where visible, exact option text, unit, current CNY amount, domestic delivery, check date and match classification. Note which reference attributes were confirmed and which remain unknown. This audit trail tells future readers why the replacement was selected and makes it easier to detect another seller-page change without pretending the row has been permanently verified.

Before payment, run the product-link verification checklist on the recovered listing. After warehouse arrival, compare the received item with the exact replacement record—not only with the old promotional image—and inspect the category-specific details that affect acceptance. A responsible CSSBuy image-search workflow moves from archived evidence to a staffed search brief, then to independently compared listings, a selected current option and later warehouse evidence. Images help restart discovery; they do not erase the need to verify the new source.
